This ‘sad festival’ is an odd work — an extended light-classical orchestral suite posing as a concept album, with solo parts for cello, piano, and ondes Martenot. Worth a listen if only out of sheer curiosity.
A quad decode of the half-hour long, single-disc version is already out there. This longer, two-disc edition has an extra twenty-five minutes offering greater musical variety. The rear channels are well used.
As always, my thanks for this having been made available.
many thanks
